I have been receiving credit card offers in the mail with my first name being totally different that what it actually is but, my last name being spelled correct. Also when updating my gym membership information this mysterious name was on file…..when before it was my correct name Should I be concerned with identity theft?

Apple requires a credit/debit card in order to purchase a iPhone and not cash. Can I use a visa gift card or iPhone gift card to purchase I my credit cards ate maxxed out?

This is weird. I’ve been divorced for years and my ex didn’t have my address. Now I am remarried. He has recently been made aware of my new address (but not new last name) from court documents regarding child support – he has never paid me any and the court is trying to collect. In the past 4 months I have been getting pre-approved credit card offers at my current address in his name and in my OLD married name and in his and my name jointly. So, I am now Mrs. Smith but when I was married to him I was Mrs. Jones. I am getting credit card offers for Mr & Mrs Jones at my current address. He has never, ever lived at this address and I just moved to this address after I remarried.

So, my questions:
1. How could this have happened?
2. What can I do to protect myself from any fraud?

Hi, Im trying to apply for a DISCOVER or AMERICAN EXPRESS credit card and im a student. On the application it makes you choose your school but I go to a junior college and its not there, I found that both discover and american express dont have junior colleges on their list. Does anyone know why this is? Do they not accept junior colleges valid for their student credit cards?

Posted for a family member…Grandma’s grandson applied for a credit card in grandma’s name and listed them as getting a second card to use. The credit card company called me before the account was opened, so all they did was a online credit application. I live in texas. What crimes can i press charges against him for?

These banks are sick. Each month I must get about 5 to 10 offers to sign up for new credit card accounts, some of them pre-approved. My credit is certainly less than perfect.

I applied credit card with capital one. The response they gave me says that they need to collect additional information. Does it mean disapproved?? Is it a good sign?? Do you have any experiences same as mine?

I have maxed out my credit for Visa and mastercard when i was still in my home country. Now that i have migrated abroad, is it possible to be approved for a new credit card?

Will I be ****** into paying a whooole lot a month?

In hopes of being able to build up our credit & with advice from our banker, we decided to apply for a Target Credit Card (we were denied by our bank because we haven’t had credit for 1+ years). Well anyway, we applied and the cashier lady said that our application is being reviewed and we’ll have an answer in 7-10 days. Usually you get approved or declined right on the spot, no?

Is that just another way of being declined? My Husband has a credit score of 710, so I don’t think it’s our initial credit that’s the problem. We also don’t have any late payments, collections, or loans.

I just wanted to know what that means when they need a longer amount of time to review our application.
I asked the cashier and she said she didn’t know. She said “The computer says here that it will need to review you application further & they’ll give you an answer in the mail in 7-10 business days”.
