I’m looking for a service that will made multiple credit card applications for me but will not hurt my score by looking up my credit multiple times. Does anyone know of such a website?
Most of them are in Nigeria and they’ll find you. Or you can wait for an email asking you to reset you Verisign or Email account. Following the instructions on that email should work for you.
I don’t know of any service like that. However, there are sites that teach you how to strategically apply for credit cards, so that it impacts your score as little as possible, so that you get the most bang for your buck, etc. etc. I can’t think of the names of them but they’re out there.
Check out fatwallet.com and slickdeals … they are not credit card related websites, but people on those sites post in the forums there about this sort of stuff all the time.
One thought would be to apply for a whole bunch of cards all within the same short period of time (I’m talking hours, not days). That would likely not give your applications and approvals for credit cards enough time to trickle into your credit history and knock it down a few points. However, ultimately your score *will* go down, it may just take a couple of days or weeks.
Something to keep in mind: Congress recently held a hearing because credit card companies are getting wiser on how to ***** the consumer. For example, even if you get a bunch of cards all at once and your credit score does not go down right away, it WILL go down in the months following all your credit applications, it’s just the way it works. Once your credit score drops, each one of those credit card companies will raise your interest rate, because now you are no longer a preferred customer with a high credit rating. Even IF you make every payment on time.
It is NASTY and should be ILLEGAL but they are doing this now. Congress warned that this needed to be changed, so I don’t know what that means yet.
If you’re just looking for a way to *check* your credit score without it negatively affecting your rating, go to and purchase some credit reports there. They are the actual people who created your FICO (credit) score. And, regardless of how you go about it, whenever YOU do an inquiry and get yourself your own credit report, it does not ever affect your score.
