How do I buy a prepaid Visa online with a credit card?
December 15th, 2008
I’d like to buy a prepaid Visa (with a credit card) online, and then I’d like to turn around and use the card instantly.
Am I given the card # and stuff so I can do that or do I have to wait for the physical card to arrive?
Extra points if you what you tell me is true. Fail points for FALSITIES.
I guess it does sound shady, but I just want to do it for anonymity online.

ok you want to buy aprepaid card with a credit card and use it instantly and you dont think visa would have a problem with that? it sounds shady from the get go.
why not use the credit card to buy the stuff you are planning to use the prepaid card on?
i would expect visa to make you wait a certain time before using the prepaid card.
anyway before most online businesses will accept a credit card online you need the 3 digit validation code from the back of the card anyway. that is a saftey feature that prevents someone from stealling your credit card statement and using the account number without physically having the card
It looks like you have to activate the card before you use it, so I think you have to receive it in the mail before you can do anything with it, or you can go to Wal-mart or somewhere and buy one and start using it right away.
this is what I found:
“Do I need to activate my Visa Reloadable Prepaid card?
Yes. Review the materials that came with your card for details. The activation process varies, depending on the provider that issued your card; however, all program providers are required to collect specific cardholder information prior to card activation.”
