Someone in my family applied for a credit card in my name but was never opened?

Credit Card Applications
Posted for a family member…Grandma’s grandson applied for a credit card in grandma’s name and listed them as getting a second card to use. The credit card company called me before the account was opened, so all they did was a online credit application. I live in texas. What crimes can i press charges against him for?

None , he hasn’t defrauded anyone.

While there was criminal activity, your grandmother didn’t suffer any financial loss–yet.

Freeze her credit history, even if you have to get a police affidavit to do it. This will make it harder for this to happen again.

Yes you can press charges. It is called identity theft. You can file a police report. It is considered fraud.
