I’m in my early twenties. I’m not a student. I also need one that reports my limit to credit bureaus so I can build credit. My bank declined my credit card application because I have no credit. I can’t go through them.
I need to build credit if I want a car, home, etc.

This is paper mailings, NOT phone or email contacts. And no, I’m not in debt – I have a perfect credit history.

I am 23 and looking to get my first credit card. I’ve never had one before, and I’m trying to compare rates, fees, etc. Someone recommended that card (Bank of America Visa Gold) as a good credit card. Does anyone have any knowledge of it or other better cards for someone trying to establish a credit history?

I’m talking about the Sears credit card offers they make at the register. They denied me due to unfavorable credit history– which I don’t have, and recent credit applications– which I haven’t made. I checked my Equifax report and everything is normal– the only reason I can think of is the opt-out but I can’t confirm it.

I asked a question about a credit card company deny my application because I am not a Permanent Resident. After couple of months, I apply for the same company and told them that I am a PR and they sent me the Credit card. (My credit history is perfect) What are they really checking? Credit history or present status of a person? By saying this information is it right or wrong?

I’ve been reading around that when you fill out a credit card application it goes to the credit bureau as an inquiry and it can knock down your credit score. Say for instance you have no credit history and have never applied for a card before but when you finally did you were denied. If this were to happen would there be a score that could be “hypothetically” knocked down if you’ve never even had credit before???
