Ok, so today in the mail I got a letter saying I had been pre approved for a credit card from Chase. I have never had a credit card (I’m only 19) and only have used my debit card (not sure if that gives me any credit? I have had late fees and such and paid them on time.) But anyway, I still live with my parents. I’m a student and I have a part time job. When it asked for annual household income, it meant my entire family, right? Cause I put something down like 65,000 (a guesstimate of mine and my parents combined income.) Or did it mean JUST mine even though I live with my parents? I got approved….and now I’m scared I like lied on the application by accident or somehting lol. Help!
I did get the pre approved letter, but then when I filled out the actual application I DID get approved.

I’m 20 years old and I just applied for the Amazon Rewards Visa credit card. Recently, my father moved out and now my mother and I have less of an income. However, when I applied for the application, I put down an estimated household income amount of when he was here. Now that’s he’s gone though, I’m worried the credit card company may see that it is less, and I really don’t want to get in trouble. Could I get in trouble for doing that? Also, should I retract my application to avoid getting in trouble? I’m really worried now. I’ve read horror stories about people lying on their credit card applications and the banks blacklisting them and they can never apply for credit again. I’m absolutely terrified that the bank might do this to me because I put the wrong income amount. Before he left it was around $160,000 which is what I put on the application, and now it’s less than that!
