Credit Card Lounge

I have just been rejected for a credit card application, and just wanted to know if anyone knows how this is judged? I don’t have bad credit, I have just bought my first home so I am quite heavily in debt with that (I borrowed $289,000 on a $300,000 home).

I feel as though I have plenty of surplus cash flow. I just want the credit card so I can put my salary straight on my mortgage and pay my expenses with the credit card, then pay the credit card off each month before the end of the interest free period.

Thanks but a pre-paid card defeats the purpose – I want to have the money sitting in my home loan for the month, reducing the interest I’m paying. Then at the end of the month, just redraw the amount that I need to pay the balance of the credit card before the end of it’s interest free period. I already have a MasterCard debit card.
